The advantages of the sling are clear in a zombie attack.
Did you know that the sling is “the best choice for newborn protection against the undead”? This is true, according to the Zombie Combat Club’s new post about protecting children from a zombie attack. The sling always kinda irritated me. We were a Baby Bjorn family, which I now understand is undesirable in the event of an invasion of undead, because it requires the adult to bear the full weight of the child, and leaves the child’s head and limbs vulnerable to a raging zombie attack. Shit. How careless of me!
As I have said in the past, zombies occupy a special place in my soft, tasty brain. Raging Big Brother sent me the Zombie Survival Guide for Christmas one year, and I recommend it to any die hard zombie enthusiast. For the more casual zombie aficionado, I recommend the Zombie Combat Club’s site for a good chuckle.

THIS is why I spend so much time on the internet. Because every now and then you come across one gem that shames all the other How-Tos.
I am slinging it for the first time this baby, and this is exactly why, you can never be too prepared.
I always thought the sling was kind of hokey, and we too were a Baby Bjorn family. But now, with #2 on the way, you have made me rethink the sling. If I really love my children, I don’t want them eaten by zombies, right? I think I’ll whip to the baby store right now and pick one up. You know, I’ve never been a big fan of “parenting advice” from “perfect strangers” who write “blogs”, but this? Is priceless.
Oh man, I am feeling so inadequate as a mother now, due to the fact that I have never even CONSIDERED what I would do with my baby in the event of a zombie attack. Sheesh. Some mom I am. Thank you for this, it really got the old wheels turning….
